Switching to watercolour was
a major step to a freer expression style. Now working in both acrylic and
watercolour.
A founding member and
past-president of the Oakville Art Society she also helped in the early
development of Gairloch Gallery. Her work has been exhibited throughout
Ontario and was included in an exhibition organized by the Town of
Oakville and sent to Japan.
Travel to many different
parts of the world has broadened her landscape experience - painting the
Andes in Ecuador and Peru, icebergs in Chili and the Sahara Desert in
Morocco has added to her appreciation of our our own rockie mountains.
Frequent sketching trips to Killarney, Haliburton and Muskoka each year
provide added stimulus. Being an avid gardener, she paints in her own
garden in the summer months and is currently working on a series of "fence
paintings" - weather proofed for outdoor use.
Her identity as an artist is
related entirely to her early childhood in Cobalt where nature was her
constant companion.
